2011 OBIE Awards Recognize Great Atlanta Real Estate Accomplishments
April is here, and that can only mean one thing for the Atlanta real estate community: It’s time to start preparing for the 2011 OBIE Awards. If you’re a homebuilder or remodeler who has an Atlanta new home community or remodeling project that’s deserving of recognition, declare your intent to enter on the GAHBA website. The deadline for entries is 5 p.m. on April 29.
As you know, the OBIE Awards (named for their obelisk shape) recognize outstanding achievement in new home building, marketing, remodeling and personal achievement categories. While this may seem like the same program as before, several important changes have been made. Here’s a list of the things that are new for 2011:
- Special discount for multiple entries
- New award categories
- New free consumer advertising: OBIE Awards winners will be promoted through television, print, web, social media and realtor media outlets
- Expanded timeline: Entries can include products from June 15, 2009 to June 15, 2011
- You can now re-submit entries from previous years as long as they fall within the aforementioned timeline and did not win a gold or silver award
Here are some important dates to remember for those interested in the OBIE Awards:

- August 12-13: On-site judging
